From Here To There: Boston’s Logan Airport to Downtown

Compared to other major metropolitan cities, getting to and from Boston’s Logan Airport a breeze.  Boston’s Logan Airport is just two miles outside the city, so  getting downtown is relativley quick, easy and inexpensive. 47291211101021By far, the best option is to hop on the free Logan Shuttle Bus for service between the airport terminals and  the T -Boston’s subway  and bus system. The  Blue Line subway connects directly with downtown in 10 minutes and most downtown hotels are within a short walk of a T station. The Silver Line is a dedicated ,rapid transit bus service  line that is super convenient for hotels in the South Boston Waterfront and South Station areas.  For a  speedy and fun way to get from the airport to the city, you can’t beat arriving to the city by water.  The Harbor Express Shuttle runs year-round between Logan and Long Wharf.   Another option is City Water Taxi an on-call water shuttle service that has many direct landings for hotels and destinations around Boston Harbor. And of course, taxis are readily available and  can provide door to door service to any hotel. Depending on traffic,  a taxi ride  form the airport to downtown should take about 10 minutes and costs around $25.
