SEA LIFE Aquarium Hosts SpongeBob Squarepants Celebration

sbcelebration2At SEA LIFE™ it’s hip to be square as the family Aquarium celebrates the 10th anniversary of SpongeBob Squarepants™ with a month-long celebration in November. From Nov. 2 to 30, SEA LIFE will be transformed into a haven for those who dream of living in a pineapple under the sea.  Sea Life Aquarium is located next to LEGOLAND California in beautiful Carlsbad.  It’s located halfway between Orange County and San Diego.

During the celebration, in addition to the real-life sea creatures, life-sized LEGO® SpongeBob characters from the hit Nickelodeon series will be onsite, including SpongeBob and best friend Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Krabs, pet snail Gary and Jellyfish. Activities onsite will include an Aquarium-wide scavenger hunt, fun facts and “Best of SpongeBob” episode screenings in the Theater. While supplies last, children who participate in the scavenger hunt will receive a free keepsake poster.

On Saturdays and Sundays throughout the month, special craft activities will take place in the Southern California Tide Pool from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

“We are excited to be hosting a SpongeBob Square Pants Celebration at the Aquarium– it will be so fun to show kids the actual creatures of the sea they so enjoy in the show,” said Megan Malaska Education Specialist for SEA LIFE Aquarium. “Real live sponges, sea stars, crabs, octopus, snails and jellyfish can be found throughout SEA LIFE in addition to the sharks, rays and other creatures that make it such a memorable experience for kids.”

More than a standard aquarium, SEA LIFE provides an educational and interactive dynamic unlike any other. The SEA LIFE experience incorporates LEGO models into a child’s voyage to the depths of the oceans, presenting the wonders of the underwater world to them in a way specially designed for their understanding. Featuring play zones, fun facts and quiz trails, SEA LIFE is designed to be a child’s guide to the life of the sea.

All SpongeBob Celebration activities are included in the price of admission to SEA LIFE Aquarium ($11.95 for children 3 to 12; $15.95 for seniors; and $18.95 for adults). For more information, visit www.sealifeus.com.
