Loveland Ski Area First to Open in Colorado

Winter is so close I can see it! And with temperatures about to take a nose dive, I would say it’s okay to break out those winter sweaters and keep them out. How about that ski gear? Yep, you can break that out too!

loveland ski areaThe Loveland Ski Area was the first to open this season in Colorado. It opened today (October 7) at 9:00 am.!

Here’s an announcement from CBS4 Denver:

Officials at Loveland Ski Area say they will be first ski area in North America to open this season when Chair 1 starts up at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, the earliest for the ski area in 40 years… Loveland will open with an 18-inch base on the opening day run, which includes three trails totaling over a mile in length.

If you go to their website, in bright red letters it says “Now Open”. You can check the weather, see the snow cam and read about all of the upcoming events for the winter.

So, weather (hahaha) you like it or now, winter is here! Watch a video of Loveland’s official announcement.
