Collecting Disney Character Autographs

Guests of all ages at Walt Disney World Resort can meet and greet their favorite Disney characters to pose for pictures, even share a quick hug.  In fact, a favorite activity at Disney theme parks is to track down those famous Disney characters and ask for their autographs.  While this seems like a simple enough task, there are a few pointers to keep in mind.Meeting magical characters at Disney theme parks

  1. Disney Characters can be found throughout the Disney World theme parks in many outdoor locations throughout the day.  Be sure to check times guide to find where and when your favorite characters will be appearing
  2. Disney Characters also appear in several indoor character greeting locations like City Hall at Town Square  and Mickey’s Toontown Fair in the Magic Kingdom, and the Character Spot in Epcot
  3. Most Disney Characters have large hands, so be sure to have a big, wide pen that are easier for them to grip

While many Disney guests purchase autograph books at the parks, I have heard of several creative alternatives :

  • An article of clothing, like a hat or t-shirt for the characters to sign would make a great wearable memory, especially if the character appears on the shirt.  Please note, the characters will not sign any article of clothing that children or adults are wearing.
  • How about fabric squares that can be sewn together once you return home to make a quilt full of memories and sweet dreams?  As long as you are dreaming, why not use  a pillowcase to capture all those autographs?
  • A Disney backpack or tote bag could serve double duty by carrying your daily supplies, as well as being on the constant ready for signatures.
  • Instead of an autograph book, why not a small photo album.  One page could be dedicated to the autograph, while the facing page holds the photo of the autograph session.
  • A framable memory comes in the form of a Disney theme park map with the characters signatures next to the attraction where they were spotted.

Some of my favorite Disney photos are of my little travelers collecting autographs and peering up into their favorite characters eyes with their own little faces beaming.  Capturing those memories are truly priceless.
