Vegas Welcomes AARP

The nation’s largest group of people over 50 is meeting in Vegas to showcase how baby boomers and their older brethren are redefining the second half of life. The three-day event will feature performers including The Duke Ellington Orchestra, The Tito Puente, Jr. Orchestra, and Kool & The Gang.  Speakers will include Maya Angelou; television icons Norman Lear, Garry Marshall, Penny Marshall, John Amos, and George Takei; TODAY Show host Al Roker; AARP Ambassadors James Brown, Martina Navratilova, Peter Greenberg, Gail Sheehy, and Jonathan Pond; Irish tenor/paralympian/Renaissance man Ronan Tynan; fashion designer Carmen Marc Valvo; entrepreneur/philanthropist/Chief Shoe Giver for TOMS Shoes Blake Mycoskie; and the founding mother of breast cancer advocacy Dr. Susan Love. vegas at night

AARP, the American Association of Retired People, is the world’s largest member organization for people 50+  with 40 million members.  The annual National Event & Expo for AARP members, their friends and families includes exhibits, experts and entertainment at the Las Vegas Sands Expo Center. Vegas@50+ is expected to attract up to 25,000

.  The expo will offer over 300 exhibits and seminars in health, finances, staying connected and giving back to the community.

The expo has also put together eleven distinct local tours within the greater Las Vegas area. Early arrivers can also take advantage of three “Days of Play” options that include a golf outing at Angel Park Golf Club; a day at the Canyon Ranch Spa; or a day at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, for an additional cost of $200.
