Mind the Plug

Plugs and sometimes voltage in the Netherlands are different from North America. Check your adaptors and chargers for your computers, cell phone, camera and other appliances. If they are rated 110/120V to 220/240V, you’re okay. This is generally the case these days.

Other appliances such as hair dryers and electric razors are convertible. If they aren’t, you’ll need a voltage converter to go from 220 to 110.

Not only voltage but also plugs are different. You will need a round pin adaptor for the Netherlands and most of Europe. Pick up an adaptor at a luggage store or at the airport. When you are in Amsterdam get one at ANWB Shop or the travel department of the Bijenkorf.
