The 98th edition of the Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales is taking place in Buenos Aires from September 24 until October 18. It is the most important contest in Argentina in the field of fine arts. This juried art contest promotes tolerance and liberty, encouraging emerging and established artists unrestricted creativity in the different visual arts genres of their selection, covering such fields as painting, sculpture, engraving, drawing, photography, ceramics, textile art, and new supports and installations.

This competition takes place every year at the Palais de Glace in Recoleta. It was established in 1911 as an annual painting and sculpture exhibition hall sponsored by the Fine Arts National Commission. Since 1932, Palais de Glace is the permanent venue for the Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales. The awarded works from all the disciplines and all the selected works for the “Painting” category will be exhibited to the public.
