Festivals Splash Downtown Disney in Art

I am am art collector.  My little Disney traveler’s masterpieces line the front of my refrigerator where they receive daily oohs and aahs.  If your taste is a little more refined than mine, then might I suggest you attend the 34th Annual Festival of the Masters Art Festival at Downtown Disney on November 13-15, 2009.

Regarded as one of the Southeast’s finest juried art festivals, the Festival of the Masters features more than 150 award-winning artists who work in a variety of media from wood to watercolors and photography to jewelry.

This open-air festival is for art lovers of all ages and includes family activities like how to draw your favorite Disney characters taught by Disney professionals, located outside Disney Quest, music and live entertainment, including chalk art displays, 6,000 square feet to be exact, featuring the works of Central Florida Chalk Artist Association. Outside Cirque du Soleil, meet some of the stars of the show while you  pick up a balloon or have your face painted.

Not enough art for you?  Then wander on over to The House of Blues at Downtown Disney for the 11th Annual Folk Art Festival – Where Art Meets Soul.  Both festivals will run concurrently with hours 9:30 am – 5:30 pm, Friday and Saturday and 9:30 am – 5:00 pm on Sunday.  Admission and parking are free.

Don’t forget you can get creative yourself by visiting Design-a-Tee as well as many other stores in the Downtown Disney area.
