Top Five Things to do in San Diego in the Fall!

San Diego in the fall is my favorite time of year. It’s still warm during the day but the evenings start to cool off. It’s back to school and ready for the holidays! Here are my top Five Things to do in San Diego in the Fall!

  • Bates Nut Farm [Map]
It isn’t October without a visit to the Pumpkin Patch at Bates Nut Farm! The Bates Nut Farm has become well known for its special events held throughout the year on the 100 acre ranch. You’ll love coming out and having a picnic in the beautiful tree filled park and feeding the menagerie of farm animals. For over 30 years families have made it an annual tradition in October to come out to Bates in search of the perfect pumpkin.
    (mid September through October)
  • Oktoberfest
Originally celebrated in early-1800s Germany in honor of the country’s royal family, Oktoberfest is now a celebration to eat, drink, and be merry! There are several Oktoberfest celebrations throughout San Diego county. Head over to La Mesa, Encinitas, Carslbad, El Cajon, Ocean Beach, and more.
    (mid September through mid October)
  • Julian [Map]
You’re not going to see a ton of seasonal changes in San Diego, but up in Julian you’ll find a ton! Plus it’s Apple Harvest time. Take a drive and experience Julian’s quaint, mountain-town charm. (mid-September to November)
  • Miramar Air Show
The MCAS Miramar Air Show is a sight not to be missed! Catch amazing aerial techniques and tricks with the Blue Angels, acrobatic helicopters, synchronized parachuters, wingwalkers, and more. Don’t forget your ear plugs!
    (October 2nd-4th)
  • Little Italy Festa [Map]
The Little Italy Festa is known to be one of the largest single-day Italian American festivals West of the Mississippi. The Little Italy community now welcomes over 100,000 attendees with the tantalizing smells of Italian sausage and the glamour of the Italian culture, music & art.
