Tacoma Art Museum Offers 2 Weeks FREE for Kids & Teens

In a last minute back to school special, the Tacoma Art Museum is offering FREE admission to anyone under 18 years of age during August 18-30th.

This special offer makes a world of great exhibits available for kids and teens, and offers a wonderful chance to expose them to the wonderful world of art and culture.

Current exhibits at the Tacoma Art Museum are:

  • Ornament as Art:  Avant-Garde Jewelry from the Helen Williams Drutt Collection
  • Loud Bones:  The Jewelry of Nancy Worden
  • 2009 Neddy Artist Fellowship
  • Speaking Parts:  Conversations Between Works in the Collection
  • Dale Chihuly Permanent Collection

What a great way to prepare for back to school!  The kids can see five different art exhibits, make art in the Open Art Studio, and learn more about art in the Art Resource Center, offering a variety of activities to capture the interest of kids no matter the age or maturity level.  It’s never too early to begin instilling art appreciation in children.

Location:  1701 Pacific Avenue, Tacoma (map)

Dates & Times:  Summer hours are Tuesday – Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm, Sunday noon – 5 pm.  Open till 8 pm on the third Thursday of every months.  Summer hours continue through September 5th, 2009.  Kids and Teens free program runs August 18th through 30th.

Admission:  Regular admission is $9 adults, $8 students, military, and seniors (65+), $25 family, and FREE for children 5 and under.  Third Thursday FREE.
