Festival dos Oceanos

There’s no doubt that summer brings along a calendar full of activities and festivals. I believe that in Lisbon there are more than ever before. Some are held at the beach, others at the parks or at the cultural centres.

Festival dos Oceanos is an old favourite of the city. Once again, this festival will be in Lisbon from the first of August until the 15th of the same month and will offer the city all different kinds of events to be held along the water front – concerts, street and multimedia events, theatre, conferences and expositions.

This year’s theme is Astonomy. Some of the things you can see are:
- Opening on the 1st of August will a live concert – James Morisson and Rita Red Shoes (Portuguese);
- Museums at Night – August 6 and 13 – some museums will work exceptionally during the night time with small performances of theatre, dance and music;
- Classic Music Concert at Belém – August 7 – open air concert with an unusual combination of music and astronomy;
- Open air Opera at Belém – August 8;
- Multimedia concert at Praça São Carlos – August 11 and 12 – music, theatre, poetry and special effects… and humor;
- Big final with music and fireworks at Parque das Nações on August 15.
