South Africa is Swine Flu Free

To date the World has been held captive by the spread of Swine Flu however to date South African has not has any positive cases of Swine Flu. Groote Schuur Hopital in Cape Town

There have been a few possible cases but after isolation and investigation the cases were confirmed to be other illnesses such as the common flu. The South African Health Department has declared South Africa free from Swine Flu and that they are ready for any possible outbreaks of the disease.

There were great worries about Swine Flu and the up and coming FIFA Confederations Cup 2009 and the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup that will be held in South Africa as we brace ourselves for millions of soccer loving visitors. 2010-Soccer-World-Cup-Mascot-Zakumi

Officials at all South African ports, airports are monitoring travellers coming into the country to ensure that we remain a disease free zone. They are using temperature monitoring devises that can detect if anyone has an abnormally high temperature and if someone is suspected as being infected will be isolated and will be tested for Swine Flu.

The Minister of Health has reassured South Africans that there are suffient stock piles of the necessary drugs to combat swine flu.

So if you are planning a holiday to Cape Town or anywhere in South Africa you can rest assured that it is free of Swine Flu.
