Table Mountain Hiking
For the thousands of Hikers that visit Cape Town every year that enjoy the many routes, trails and hiking paths that can be found all over the Western Cape with a large amount of hiking trails along the Table Mountain Range.
A route that is known to be tricky at times is called India Venster (window) Route has been made safer by Table Mountain Authorities. They did this by installing new stainless steel foot holds, hand holds and chains to assist hikers at the trickiest section. This will make the route safe in the long run.Waterfall on Table Mountains

There have been several rescue mission for hikers that either get lost or stuck on the various Table Mountain. In most cases it is due to the hikers not fully adhering to the advice given by park officials or the weather conditions changing within a matter of minutes. It is always important to research the route, check weather forecasts, stick to the route, never hike alone and always take a fully charged cell / mobile phone with you so in a case of an emergency you can call for assistance.
