Maxvorstadt Hof-Flea Market: Bargain Shopping in a Backyard
On May 23rd, the residents of Maxvorstadt will be opening their innenhofs and lawns to the public to create one massive flea market. Most buildings in Munich are equipped with a courtyard, also called Innenhofs, much like a backyard of sorts. On this day, anyone and everyone is welcomed into these private areas for some fantastic bargain shopping. So grab your morning coffee and head over to Maxvorstadt, where residents and businesses alike will be offering some fantastic deals! For example, the Munich Readery will be holding a sale on hundreds of English language books for 1€-2€!
This a one of a kind opportunity for you to not only find something fabulous, but also get a better feel of what living in Maxvorstadt is like. May I just say that I absolutely love living in this historical and prestigious area. Maxvorstadt is home to some of the most historical as well as gorgeous residential buildings in all of Munich. So for those architecture/history buffs, the invitation into someone’s private area of residence won’t come again!

WOW, it’s nice to know that flea markets are flourishing everywhere. I live in the Midwest and have a booth at a local indoor flea mart; and I love it. I enjoy just wandering around and seeing what is new and different, seems like the vendors are always adding something else. It’s nice to know you can get great stuff at really good prices, regardless of where you live.
